Spring in the UK is a mish mash of warm to hot weather, interpreted with very cold spells, followed by RAIN!
An old English phrase goes:
“Cast not a clout till May be out”
My interpretation of this is “Don’t get your summer clothes out until the end of May”, and I have found this to be very useful in staying toastie warm in the chill of the UK Spring! To read a bit more about this visit here!
Today…it’s windy and rainy…so here are my Spring Photos…..in the rain!
This evening my ‘pet pigeons’ were canoodling once more on my fence, so in this set of photos they are no longer looking the other way….these, my lovelies, are full frontal pigeon shots!
Peony Pigeon and Picardy Pigeon had been flying from aerial to roof top to tree and back again for about 20 minutes, so when they finally settled on the fence, I had to move at break neck speed to the back door in order to get these photos!
“Shall we?” said Peony.
“My pleasure!” said Picardy.
Let the aerobatics commence!
How fluffy are you Picardy Pigeon!
“Elbows up Peony!” shouted Picardy all of a dither!
What a lovely day at last here in good old blighty….we may be turning a corner away from winter (“Shut Up!” shouted Great Britain who were all afeared of the consequences saying such things!)
Anyway, as I walked I saw this little lot….
“Hmmm!” thought Darling Duck, “Is she dangerous or is the look of derangement on her face quite normal for her?”
“Listen ducklings…we’re going to stay here for a minute, but if that weird looking creature over there with no wings comes any closer….we’re gonna leg it….ok?” said Darling under her breath so as not to upset the creature that she spoke of!
“It’s all very well staying here huddled together like this,” said Diana Duckling, “But why does mother have to sit on us?”
“I’m keeping well out of the way but keeping my eye on the situation!” said Diddly Duckling who had an old head on young shoulders!
I was so pleased to have caught them all there in the lovely spring sunshine.
“Oh thank goodness, mother has got off and we can breathe again!” said the ducklings as one!
Cute photo alert!
“That’s it!” quacked Darling, “she’s stepped just a little too close….ducklings….move!”
