So it’s all about the Alphabet in the Photo Challenge this week!
So my letter today is ‘R’ for Robin…or should that be ‘Ahhhhh!”
There are lots more Alphabet entries if you follow the ‘Photo Challenge’ link at the top!

Ailsa has a travel blog and this week’s Travel theme is ‘Fantastic’.
I have made a fantastic discovery this week….a place where I can pop some bird food on a fence in a lovely wood and the birds will come and eat it whilst I take photos!
But I would like to introduce you to a very British little lady who, in my estimation, is definitely…
‘Fantastic’!
Roberta is very excited by the prospect of Spring…..the feeling of the sun on her feathers is swelling her heart and making her burst into song……
“You may say'” she chirruped, “Spring has sprung,
The grass is ris
I wonder where the birdies is!
Well let me tell you” she continued in a beautiful throaty warble…….
“I’m singing in the sun,
Just singing in the sun, What a wonderful feeling
My life is such great fun!”
She continued in this way for a good few minutes, then almost as quickly as she had started, she turned to me and….
“Oy you!” shouted Roberta, “Enough’s enough….you had yer two penneth worth…now HOP IT!”
And with that she flounced off!
I still thought as he was fantastic though!

Red Red was in the garden…..
He hopped onto the garden post and looked and looked…..surely this was the time of year when the garden took on a minimalist look-what with winter approaching and all!
What Red Red couldn’t understand was why on earth the garden was filled with nasturtiums, no…..filled with flowering nasturtiums in the middle of November!!
Red Red was most bemused!

Ah! What could be better for me?
I know I have featured robins recently, but they just have to be the friendliest and non-scared little birds we have in the UK.
I can’t venture too far at the moment (See my post “Ode to my Appendix” from 2 days ago to see why!), but just over the road I came across this little lady……
“Hold on a mo Madam Photographer, take your shot and then I’ll spin round so you can get my other side view too!” said Renée Robin filling her red breast full of air so she could tootle and trill to her heart’s content!
Thanks to Cee and her Fun Foto Challenges!

Whilst walking along the canal and to the reservoir today we saw a lovely little robin who didn’t seem scared at all. I was really pleased that he posed so wonderfully for me!
“Oh go on then,” said Ridgemont Robin, “If your weekly photo challenge is Joy who am I to stand in your way? I’ll pose for you just this once as I am looking particularly gorgeous today!”
And that’s just what Ridgemont Robin did!

There was some hustle and bustle and a bit of a hullabaloo going on where I found myself today.
There seemed to be a competition between the coal tits and the blue tits!
Let’s have a look what’s going on……
Bigaloo Blue Tit (Big for short) arrived early at the Bird Gym and felt a rush of confidence coursing through his body as he anticipated the forthcoming Tit Strength Competition!
A moment later…..
They were soon joined by other tits!
Big was the first to start and he went straight to the bars…
It didn’t take Cahoona long to begin the heckling!
“Call that a feat of strength? You’re a little pussy cat!” sneered Cahoona in an ugly manner! “Shift over and let the real winner through!”
At that moment, Big got distracted….
Of course, Cahoona took advantage of this and took his place immediately!
Rita Robin heard the noise and came to take a look….
Rita Robin could barely believe her eyes at the energy that the tits expended in competing with each other, especially considering the hard winter they were encountering!
And with a flounce and a chirrup……
Off she flew!
And That’s All!

I’m still chasing those birds in the bush! They’re still flying away as soon as my boot crunches the snow!
However, my previously mentioned stealth and cunning worked again today…..
Poor Rosanna….
Rosanna knew the best thing to do when Rodrigo was like this was to close her beak and mind her own business!
But it wasn’t long before……
“Dum dum da da da da da bob bob bobbin’ along!” sang Rosanna wishing she could remember all the words to the song!
Here’s Sidney Skylark whose demeanour looks as frosty as the weather!
Here’s the countryside 2 minutes from my back door on a snowy late afternoon…..
Not a bad view eh?
Anyway, off I went a walking earlier today looking for inspiration but safe in the knowledge that I have an ace up my sleeve for the coming days!! NO! I can’t possibly tell you what creature I have rather good photos of, nor can I tell you of his personality until it becomes clearer to me!
However I did meet Rodrigo up in the fields-there he was looking this way……
and that way…..
I managed to get a little more zoom on the camera……
“What the hell are you looking at?” screamed Rodrigo, ” I know it’s not the best hair style but it’s what they’re all wearing so SHUT UP and leave me alone!”
Who’d have thought of a sweet little Robin!
Mind you-I’m not too sure of the square head look that is so “on trend” at the moment either!
That’s all!
