Some flowers from my garden….

"I'm first, I'm first!" shouted Saffy Saxifrage. "Damn it....pipped to the post again!" said Sylvia most disappointed as she had thought she would be the first to bloom heavenwards this year!

"I no longer wish to be called 'Saffy Saxifrage'" Said Saffy pouty..."From now on I shall be known as 'Saffy Sexifrage!'"

“I no longer wish to be called ‘Saffy Saxifrage'” said Saffy poutily…”From now on I shall be known as ‘Saffy Sexifrage!'”

To finish……

And finally, just because I love this colour and flower so much, one more!

"And she certainly didn't do anything snazzy iPhoto wizardy at all....this is really what we look like!" smiled Polonius Purple Heart!

Just the One Leg Mr. Mandarin Duck?

When walking in one of my favourite places where I know that Mr. Miyagi Mandarin lives, I found lots of wonderful things to photograph. Yesterday’s post with the ducklings were some of those wonderful things. As I have approximately loads and loads of photos of this lovely mandarin duck I thought I wouldn’t take anymore…but when I saw him a standing there, all saucy on one leg!!!!-what else could I do but take photos!

"How many legs does a mandarin have When he's standing alone by the water? Answer me now, what do you think Cos you don't know you really ought!" sang Miyagi in a willowy voice!

“How many legs does a mandarin have

Answer me now, what do you think
Cos if you don’t know now you really oughta!” sang Miyagi in a willowy voice!

I needed to get closer to find the answer.....

He even turned to the side and fanned out his tail....all still on one leg!

Spring has Sprung, The Grass is Riz, I Wonder Where the Ducklings is?? See Below!

What a lovely day at last here in good old blighty….we may be turning a corner away from winter (“Shut Up!” shouted Great Britain who were all afeared of the consequences saying such things!)

Anyway, as I walked I saw this little lot….

"Hmmm!" thought Darling Duck, "Does she look dangerous or is the look of derangement on her face just how she looks?"

“Hmmm!” thought Darling Duck, “Is she dangerous or is the look of derangement on her face quite normal for her?”

"Listen ducklings...we're going to stay here for a minute, but if that weird looking creature over there with no wings comes any closer....we're gonna leg it....ok?" said Darling under her breath so as not to upset the creature that she spoke of!

"It's all very well staying here huddled together like this," said Diana Duckling, "But why does mother have to sit on us?"

“It’s all very well staying here huddled together like this,” said Diana Duckling, “But why does mother have to sit on us?”

"I'm keeping well out of the way but keeping my eye on the situation!" said Diddly Duckling who had an old head on young shoulders!

I was so pleased to have caught them all there in the lovely spring sunshine.

"Oh thank goodness, mother has got off and we can breathe again!" said the ducklings as one!

Cute photo alert!

"That's it!" quacked Darling, "she's stepped just a little too close....ducklings....move!"

And they were off!

How Many Ducks Can a Woodchuck Chuck and Will He Have to Duck?

Today I bring you my “Nearly the Last of my Turkish Holiday Photos” as my blog!

I have mentioned (several times) about the stop off in Istanbul where I photographed some amazing peacocks and saw some other interesting fowl creatures!

But I also saw a multi coloured and very beautiful duck which is of the Woodchuck variety!

Here he is….

"Damn those terrapins and their bread eating capacity....don't they know how hungry and important I am?" whined Wilbur Woodchuck!

“Damn those terrapins and their bread eating capacity….don’t they know how hungry and important I am?” whined Wilbur Woodchuck!

"I shall have a drink whilst I await more bread!" said Wilbur philosophically!

“I shall have a drink whilst I await more bread!” said Wilbur philosophically!

But just look at his feathers….

"Still no bread...still no bread!" said Wilbur with tummy a rumbling!

“Still no bread…still no bread!” said Wilbur with tummy a rumbling!

"Oh I thought you were going to throw me bread not take a blooming photo!" snarled Wilbur!

“Oh I thought you were going to throw me bread not take a blooming photo!” snarled Wilbur!

Hunger played a great part in Wilbur’s life….

"Right photographer lady...one last chance...Give me bread or I swim!"

“Right photographer lady…one last chance…Give me bread or I swim!”

"You were warned!" said Wilbur with a flounce and a change of direction!

“You were warned!” said Wilbur as he swam away with a flounce!

A Chicken Perhaps?

My last 3 blogs have had a ‘peacocky’ theme about them. Well today it is still birdish but a rather funny looking fella, whose name escapes me-are you able to tell me the breed as I can’t seem to find out!

Here he is….

"Right!" said Clarence, "I'm sure the door is round here somewhere!"

“Right!” said Clarence, “I’m sure the door is round here somewhere!”

"Hmmm-maybe it's this way!"

“Hmmm-maybe it’s this way!”

Clarence was well and truly lost by now!

But isn't he rather spectacular?

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Lines

So I’m taking part in another photo challenge…this time the theme is Lines and here’s where you can find info about this challenge…

http://www.ceephotography.com/2013/03/27/cees-fun-foto-challenge-lines/

Here are my photos taken today in a beautiful beech wood in Hertfordshire (though not much sign of leaves as yet!)

I saw this tree from a little way off and knew it fitted this theme perfectly!

This year has been an amazing year for lichen and moss. All around in the countryside there are such brilliant greens-as you can see!
