We are in Istanbul and have just been on a Bosphorus river cruise……
This is where the Bosphorus flows into the Black Sea. It was taken from the Byzantine Yoros Castle where we had “an aerial view of the confluence of Bosphorus and Black Sea”-so says the guide!!
Look how far up we walked in 35 degree heat!! We didn’t look gorgeous at the end of the walk I can assure you!!!
Who said this was Wordless Wednesday??? Today I ain’t obeying the rules!!

This week the challenge is ‘On Top’ and here’s where you can find out about it….
These saucy young terrapins were frolicking in a pond in Istanbul!!
Here, starting on the left and moving clockwise around the picture, are Tia Terrapin, Tetley Terrapin and Trier Terrapin!
Looks like Tia Terrapin has caught the eye of Trier Terrapin!
Aha! I was right!!
I’m sure you can see why I’ve put it in for this challenge!

Today I bring you my “Nearly the Last of my Turkish Holiday Photos” as my blog!
I have mentioned (several times) about the stop off in Istanbul where I photographed some amazing peacocks and saw some other interesting fowl creatures!
But I also saw a multi coloured and very beautiful duck which is of the Woodchuck variety!
Here he is….
“Damn those terrapins and their bread eating capacity….don’t they know how hungry and important I am?” whined Wilbur Woodchuck!
“I shall have a drink whilst I await more bread!” said Wilbur philosophically!
But just look at his feathers….
“Still no bread…still no bread!” said Wilbur with tummy a rumbling!
“Oh I thought you were going to throw me bread not take a blooming photo!” snarled Wilbur!
Hunger played a great part in Wilbur’s life….
“Right photographer lady…one last chance…Give me bread or I swim!”
“You were warned!” said Wilbur as he swam away with a flounce!

My last 3 blogs have had a ‘peacocky’ theme about them. Well today it is still birdish but a rather funny looking fella, whose name escapes me-are you able to tell me the breed as I can’t seem to find out!
Here he is….
“Right!” said Clarence, “I’m sure the door is round here somewhere!”
“Hmmm-maybe it’s this way!”
Clarence was well and truly lost by now!
But isn’t he rather spectacular?

So yesterday I showed you Ponar Peacock…who was definitely king of all he surveyed!
Today I present Pahana Peacock who is beautiful but not quite the handsome chap
that Ponar Peacock from yesterday’s blog is!
“I shall sit just here until Ponar’s perch becomes available for me to take over!” said Pahana conspiratorially!
Here is Pahana and a friend….
They didn’t really have anything to say to each other that day!
“Damn Ponar and his fine good and totally blue looks!” said Padana in a jealous rage!
“I feel a little downcast!” said Padana a little sadly!
“I need a sleep now!”
Pahana went off for a break…
Sometimes you just need to get away from it all….
But I think Pahana has had enough now…
“And that’s all from me!” said Pahana!
So we are now on holiday in Turkey and arrived at our villa late last night. We had a stop off in Istanbul on the way and had time for a leisurely lunch.
Oh joy came upon me as I was munching lunch, in the form of wildfowl and water fowl in the surrounding area!
I’m sure you already know which critter I’m going to show you photos of…..
May I introduce….Ponar Peacock
At first he wouldn’t look at me so I took full advantage and snapped away!
Getting a little closer now…..
Oh those colours!
And now…yet more yummy photos of Ponar….. You can make these bigger by clicking on them!
“What a fine bird I am from simply any angle!” Boasted Ponar!
“Even from behind!” He added!
Just a few more now…..
“Hmmm!” Said Ponar, “I think I’ve had enough photographer lady….you may leave!”
“Are you listening? ENOUGH! Please leave NOW!”
Ponar then decided to ignore me!
Then he ignored me some more!
