Weekly Photo Challenge: Details

Today I’m going to zoom in on snails, revealing their ‘Details’!

Following are some rather acrobatic snails I have found on my many and various country walks…..

IMG_8850

Steve Snail felt like he was losing his grip on life!

IMG_8692

IMG_8505

Sally Snail wondered why she had ever started this journey!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Admiration

I would like to register my Admiration for Britain’s second smallest bird…..

The Wren!

Aka ‘Troglodytes troglodytes’ (so good they named them twice!)

IMG_7853

This little chap was singing his heart out….as you will see in the next picture!

IMG_7852 (1)

They are actually quite noisy even though they are so small!

IMG_7917

7.30am and there’s no stopping him!

IMG_7949

Yes…I think he’s posing!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Admiration

There’s a whole lot of Admiration going on in the bird world…….

IMG_7822

Here’s Charlie Chaffinch watching Renée Robin in admiration of his beautiful red breast…..

IMG_7595

Meanwhile Renée Robin is watching Rita Wren and her beautiful petite form with equal admiration!

IMG_7583

Mind you….Rita Wren thinks, “How I admire the beautiful colours on Gareth Goldfinch!” whilst gently sighing!

IMG_7638

Gareth Goldfinch is no stranger to admiration as he watches Lady Blackcap perched so high and yet so delicately in the branches of the next tree!

IMG_7743

Lady Blackcap, rather like me, cannot resist secretly watching Renée Robin’s brother Ralph who has found the perfect pose in the next tree!

IMG_7759

Ralph Robin is in his own world!

But look……some others who have deep admiration for all these birds……..

IMG_7597

After all, pigs might fly but sheep can’t!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dinnertime

To continue with yesterday’s story of Dinnertime!

Remember….. it was Percival Pelican and Percilina Pelican and their flying fish dinner!

IMG_7026

Percival and Percilina Pelican before their lunch! Percival is the one with the yellow under beak!

Back in the water…..what happens with one fish and 2 very large beaks……

IMG_7091

Looks like Percilina has managed to get there first!

IMG_7092

Ooooh!

IMG_7093

Disengage Percival!

IMG_7094

Funny looking really!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Future

The challenge this week is to share photos with the theme of Future.

This I will do!

IMG_7532

Grady O’ Grebe looked at his reflection and resolved to use a different hairdresser in the future!

IMG_7528

Yehudi Yellowhammer resolved to wear a vest in the future on these bright yet chilly Spring mornings-plumping up his feathers just wasn’t doing it for him!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Future

A story of a goat who wanted the future to be the present!

IMG_7293

Goldie the Goat was deep in thought

Thinking of what he would like

He was still quite young with time on his side

But he wished he was like Uncle Spike

IMG_7294

Oh yes, he had horns-not bad for his age

But dear youth how impatient you are

He wanted what only many years could buy

I suppose it’s not that bizarre

IMG_7297

Gordie the Goat tried to comfort him,                                                                                                        He said, “At least your horns curl!                                                                                                             Look at mine all pointy and straight                                                                                                           How I long for a wonderful whorl!”

Now Uncle Spike he was a sheep

With two most glorious horns

And shall I tell you the irony?

It’s his long lost youth he mourns!!

IMG_7246

Uncle Spike

 And just to finish……

Sharon Sheep                                                                                                                                             Couldn’t hear                                                                                                                                                          As her horn was holding down                                                                                                                        Her ear!IMG_7340

Weekly Photo Challenge: Half-Light

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not,
neither do they spin; And yet I say unto you that even Solomon
in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

Jesus’ words.

IMG_7009 IMG_7007

“Bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers feed also the soul.”

I believe this is a quote from the Qur’an.

IMG_6985 IMG_6984

“More than anything,
I must have flowers,
always, always.”
