It was quite a bright but cold day today which always pleases me in terms of photography!
Now all the trees are bare, there is not much in the way of hiding places for the birds……excellent!

Cheryl Chaffinch fluffed up her feathers against the wind and said, “Oooh I remember when all the leaves were on the trees and I could hide from camera women like ‘er down there!……..”
Then there’s Stevie Starling feeling all exposed in the tree…..

“Whilst I like the way the winter sun catches the fabulous colours in my feathers, it ain’t half cold without those dear ‘gone but not forgotten’ leaves!” postured Stevie!
And as for McFarlane Pheasant (not the brightest of birds I fear!)….

“I’m sure there was wheat in this field the last time I came here….where can it be?” Mcfarlane Pheasant clucked in the field where once indeed there was wheat…long ‘gone but not forgotten’ by him!
And I just wanted to pop this slightly odd photo in…..I was trying to take a sort of silhouette of a skylark in a wild rose tree against a rather dramatic backdrop (well done sun!), when he decided to fly off at the exact moment I pressed the shutter…..what do you think?
