But following are photos of the place where I found a flock of those aforementioned ducks-I was delirious with the discovery! No mandarins in these photos, just rather lovely reflections (in my opinion!).
When walking in one of my favourite places where I know that Mr. Miyagi Mandarin lives, I found lots of wonderful things to photograph. Yesterday’s post with the ducklings were some of those wonderful things. As I have approximately loads and loads of photos of this lovely mandarin duck I thought I wouldn’t take anymore…but when I saw him a standing there, all saucy on one leg!!!!-what else could I do but take photos!
“How many legs does a mandarin have When he’s standing alone by the water? Answer me now, what do you think Cos if you don’t know now you really oughta!” sang Miyagi in a willowy voice!
I needed to get closer to find the answer…..
He even turned to the side and fanned out his tail….all still on one leg!
I am totally mesmerised and captivated by this duck and whilst I have produced a post about him previously, that was before my lovely new camera!
“Oh!” said Mr. Miyagi, “I see she’s back again but with a better camera and joy in her heart at seeing me!”
He’s not wrong you know!
Dutifully showing how his feathers fall so beautifully in this position!
I love the pattern of the blue on his feathers.
But who’s this slightly sleazy and perhaps jealous looking chap up in the trees?
“Huh,” sneered Percy, “She keeps saying she’s going to do a pigeon study and feature us on her so called blog….but NO!… Mr. Bright Coloured Mandarin Face always gets the first look in! Well I’m sick of it and let my ‘sick of it’ face be a warning!” (To who I wonder?)
