So…

Here are my grandsons nicely wrapped up in their rather lovely hats….

IMG_1301 IMG_1280Ain’t they cute (even if I do say so myself!)

Then there’s me in my favourite Australian hat….

'Twas a windy day in Bedfordshire!

This photo bears no relation to me at all….but I rather like it!

Crazy Horses!

So there we were, my son and his girlfriend out for a walk with my grandsons! We’d seen big dogs, gulls, birds and general wildlife. We were heading back to the car when we saw some horses/ponies in a field over the road. So with a 2 year old and a 3 year old what else can you do but go and feed them! (The horses not the grandsons!)

"What is anxious camera woman worrying about!" thought Seamus the pony, "Of course I'm not going to bite his fingers!"

“What is anxious camera woman worrying about!” thought Seamus the pony, “Of course I’m not going to bite his fingers! But my toenails could do with a cut!”

Then out of the blue and with a lot of noise, this horse came charging over, hell bent on biting poor old Seamus! (Made me jump a bit too I can tell you!)

"I'm gonna get you...I'm gonna get you and when I do I'm gonna force you to comb the burrs out of my tail and mane you unpleasant little pony!" snarled a very angryHarold Horse!

“I’m gonna get you…I’m gonna get you and when I do I’m gonna force you to comb the burrs out of my tail and mane you unpleasant little pony!” snarled a very angry Harold Horse!

Seamus made his way back when he thought the coast was clear!

"What's rattled his hay stack today!" said Seamus a little out of breath!

“What’s rattled his hay stack today!” said Seamus a little out of breath! “He can’t possibly have found out I covered him in those burrs!”

We thought it might just have been a little spat but Harold had a glint in his eye and not a shred of reason in his head!

He was so furious about the knotted mass in his tail and mane that he just went for Seamus!

Scary but exciting!

The other horses/ponies were trying to get between Harold and Seamus…

"I know he's behind you lot!" neighed Harold!

“I know he’s behind you lot!” neighed Harold! “And I’m coming to get him….”

And he did…..

Then this little mare seemed to put her back to him with the horse on the right backing her up so that he couldn’t get to Seamus!

Thank You Very Much!

I have been nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award by

http://opallaontrails.wordpress.com

to whom I have sent my thanks!

versatileblogger

When thinking of who (or is it whom) to nominate, the qualities on the following list should be taken into account:

“The quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page. Or, of course, the quality of the photographs and the level of love displayed in the taking of them. Honor those bloggers who bring something special to your life whether every day or only now and then.”

Thus says…. Versatile Blogger Award blog site

I have to say seven things about myself!

1) Where others are becoming drawn toward tweeting and the medium of Twitter, I am becoming more drawn to Twitchers and their bird stalking habits!

"Yow!" said Bella Blue Tit, "I think I flew a little too close to that twig!"

“Yow!” said Bella Blue Tit, “I think I flew a little too close to that twig!”

2) I have twin sons of 25, and to think, I’m only 31 myself!! Amazing!!

Twin Puff Balls (Very unlike my sons...sorry boys!).

Twin Puff Balls (Very unlike my sons…sorry boys!).

3) I think sheep are rather wonderful but could not complete a bird walk 2 days ago because there were cows in the field. My one and only phobia! Well maybe not phobia, but they don’t half scare me!

"I have been trying very hard lately tp perfect my Mona Lisa look....whaddya think?" baa-ed Sheena

“I have been trying very hard lately to perfect my Mona Lisa look….whaddya think?” baa-ed Sheena

"Aw!" mooed Cara, "I'm so sad you are scared of me...go on rush past me now whilst I'm not looking!"

“Aw!” mooed Cara, “I’m so sad you are scared of me…go on rush past me now whilst I’m not looking!”

4) I am an uncontrollable scrumper! I can’t pass a hedgerow without stopping and picking! I then like to make yummy things with the foraged food. My favourite was damson vodka!!!

Oh yeah! I've been a scrumpin'.

Oh yeah! I’ve been a scrumpin’.

How can I resist?

How can I resist?

5) I love new technology….iphone, iPad, imad about it! But, my camera….and close up photography, getting home and downloading, then…there they all are on icloud where ever I am! Oh JOY!

"As you have tried harder with your focus Mrs. Photographer, then I will reveal both sets of my antennae, though the top set are officially called my eyestalks!" said Steve with a wink!

“As you have tried harder with your focus Mrs. Photographer, then I will reveal both sets of my antennae, though the top set are officially called my eyestalks!” said Steve with a wink!

Beautiful!

Beautiful!

6) I love slapstick! I will become convulsed if you were to fall over in front of me…but I would also have the grace to be deeply embarrassed about the whole thing!

And I love horse with moustaches!

And I love horse with moustaches!

7) I love blogging and always look forward to my time in the wordpress world 🙂

And I have to nominate 15 worthy bloggers who are:

Thank you very much!

With such awards come much responsibility…there are rules you know!

The Reader Appreciation Award Rules:

2. Attach the icon to your site. This I will do!

3. Answer the attached questions. Be patient…I will!

4. Nominate 6 bloggers who you feel deserve this award. Not a problem!

You have questions I believe….

8. Do you watch television?

Oh yes I do!

9. Who is your favorite author?

I think Julia Donaldson (Gruffalo) is a genius!

10. Do you like 80′s movies?

I’m not much of a movie fan…bit too fidgety-no idea what films were about in the eighties!

11. How do you like your eggs?

Well, fried would be my first choice with a touch of salt and branston fruity (brown sauce). However I have trained myself to not have fried eggs cos of the ‘fry’ bit! Though now I think of it, a soft boiled egg is pretty darned good-not with toast fingers though. Mind you….there’s always poached, on toast with a cup of tea on one side.

12. When did you discover blogging?

Last May (2012) – I hadn’t a clue what I was doing, nobody saw my posts…but the delight when I got my first ‘like’ was wonderful. I was (and still am) so grateful that anyone ever bothers!

My first ever picture from my first ever blog called 'Beautiful morning-new life'.

13. Why do you like to blog?

Ummmm-that’s quite hard to actually put into words. There’s great satisfaction in seeing something you have created being ‘out there’ and then there’s that other people are looking at it! I think bloggers are pretty good sorts too and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know different bloggers!

The bloggers I am nominating are those whose name I constantly see in the ‘like’ section at the bottom of one of my posts. I am very thankful to them. Even more thankful when they comment! To each of you, please accept this award if you would like to…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons 5

Here’s today’s amazing frost!

And rose hips frozen in time…

Now for some photos taken yesterday in the freezing fog of a horse that I have called Henry and who I have featured before!

He has the most beautiful moustache!

Hope you like them Lynn (Hillary’s Angel)

And just to finish with a flourish…

That’s All!

See Ya xx

First time round, photos were missing…now I have put them all back. Hope this works! 🙂

Dot knows! (elleturner4)

What inspires me to write a blog is definitely nature and it has the most immense pull on me. I knew I wanted to go out today to find images for my next post, but for those of you who are not in the UK, I had better let you know about our weather at the moment. I believe you would call it blustery at the very least! Very strong winds indeed! And to demonstrate this, here’s a photo of me, taken by me in the fields behind my house!

I’d now like to show a selection of images that inspire and delight me, that make me always carry my camera and which fill me with excitement when downloading to my computer.

A spider on his web in my garden…

Then there’s the humour of a horse taking part in Movember!!! (I have already published this but it’s very amusing!)

Out on a walk!

Today, I have various photos and an ink weed update (it’s getting mouldier too!)

If you were interested, you could search my posts for ink weed and get the whole picture!

First off, not something I would normally strive to photograph…and yet I knew it had some pretty good colour and some fine detail…….

He’s trying to get into my compost heap!

Then further afield, quite literally, I saw this rather fine  horse…

Have you spotted what my next pic will focus on?

Just look at this!

Henry became a little irritated the more I focused my camera on his nose!

And finally….the latest ink weed photo!

Poor old Hank!

And that’s all for today!

Se Ya xx
