So today is the day to meet Blair the Blue Heron. First spotted along the canal just after I saw Gregory the Grey Heron (see yesterday’s post!).
Here he is….
Oh how long will you stay still Blair?
He did stay there for a few more minutes….
Just a little closer….
It didn’t take Blair long to think he’d had enough and off he flew.
But three cheers for the press and take loads of photos in swift succession setting on my camera…..
Is it just me or is Blair trying to form letters with his wings and perhaps send us a message?
But he did stop a little further on and pose in a beautiful manner and if you look hard you can see the strange hairy feathery bits on his back that made Gregory the Grey Heron rather jealous yesterday!
“Oh blimey she’s still there!” said Blair somewhat wearily! “Time to leave!”
And that’s Blair on his way!
Aren’t I lucky living where I do with all this on my doorstep!
What a lovely place to walk-Marsworth/Tring reservoir…..
Whatever could be lurking within these reeds?
“Nehhh,” moaned Gregory the Grey Heron to no-one in particular and anyone who would listen, “My life hasn’t gone as I would have liked it….pah! When I think of Blair Blue Heron and his life….nyargghhh…it makes my neck retract and my eyes hard!”
Poor Gregory thinks he’s hard done by!
“What’s that over there? Something for my tea? Bet Blair doesn’t have my problems with his beautiful beak, long neck and strange and wispy hairy bits down his back!” sniped Gregory.
When will we meet Blair?
“Hmpf…nothing to eat there after all!” said Gregory!
Oh dear, I think we need some blessed relief from Gregory….
“I am your blessed relief!” quacked Tessa the Tufted Duck who remembered Adrienne well! For those of you who don’t know Adrienne, sadly it’s your loss!
“I’m wondering whether the plum burgundy I used for my feathers is very flattering?” questioned Tessa.
Meanwhile Gregory still felt great resentment towards Blair who we will not meet til tomorrow at the scheduled release of my Friday post!
