The challenge this week is to provide a photo under the title of ‘Glow’.
I think Charlie Chaffinch has placed himself directly in front of an Autumn glow of leaf colour…..

So…to explain….
The Rule of Thirds is a photography concept that puts the subject of the photograph off-center, which usually results in blank space in the rest of the image. If you focus closely on your subject and use a wide aperture, your photograph’s background will also be beautifully blurred in that blank space. The blurred area behind your focal point is referred to as bokeh, and when executed well, it adds depth and artistry to an otherwise simplistic photograph.
First….
Second…..
Third…..
There is another part to the rule of thirds and that is…..
The Rule of Thirds is also a photography concept in which three photos are shown together and never alone! This group of three is referred to as bonkeh or bonkehs if there are several groups of three photos. The photographers can themselves claim to be bonkehs when using this technique!
You live and learn eh!

It was quite a bright but cold day today which always pleases me in terms of photography!
Now all the trees are bare, there is not much in the way of hiding places for the birds……excellent!
Cheryl Chaffinch fluffed up her feathers against the wind and said, “Oooh I remember when all the leaves were on the trees and I could hide from camera women like ‘er down there!……..”
Then there’s Stevie Starling feeling all exposed in the tree…..
“Whilst I like the way the winter sun catches the fabulous colours in my feathers, it ain’t half cold without those dear ‘gone but not forgotten’ leaves!” postured Stevie!
And as for McFarlane Pheasant (not the brightest of birds I fear!)….
“I’m sure there was wheat in this field the last time I came here….where can it be?” Mcfarlane Pheasant clucked in the field where once indeed there was wheat…long ‘gone but not forgotten’ by him!
And I just wanted to pop this slightly odd photo in…..I was trying to take a sort of silhouette of a skylark in a wild rose tree against a rather dramatic backdrop (well done sun!), when he decided to fly off at the exact moment I pressed the shutter…..what do you think?

Today I am feeling very pleased and excited with the photos I have taken on my walk this afternoon. You could say I feel ‘on top’ of the world, or even ‘on top’ form! And that’s my tentative link with Weekly Photo Challenge!
This little female chaffinch was just sitting in the hedgerow with what I thought was a catkin in her beak! My son had just rung me, so I was talking on the phone when I noticed her….
She, Cheryl Chaffinch, seemed very happy so stay where she was, which is more than I can say for what I now know to be the caterpillar squashed in her beak!
As you can see, I couldn’t stop taking photos of her whilst my son waited patiently on the phone!
Oh go on then, just one more!!
Message for M-R….Here’s the link to a post I did not long after I had started blogging which is about ivy…..
