So the challenge this week is to show something new.
Have a look….

Belinda Black Swan is beautiful,
She’s also rather vain!
She swims about the river
Where she can become a pain!

She knows that people love her,
And they gasp when they see her swim by
For every feather is always in place
And her head is always held high!

She sometimes likes to pose like this
And smiles at her reflection
“Oh look the Loch Ness monster”
She says on closer inspection!

And when her friends gather together
They can’t help but synchronise
But they’re rude to their other river mates
Who they often criticise!

It was then that Belinda saw Cyril
Come swimming in for a rest
Sadly he had some river weed
Stuck all over his chest!

Belinda turned tail there and then
She went to find her friends
To gossip about Cyril and his mucky chest
And how he obviously didn’t cleanse!

The swans all listened and so did the gulls
They couldn’t believe what they saw
They started to shout and call Cyril names
Now what did they do that for?

Poor Cyril was sad and he turned his head
He didn’t know quite what to do!
Then an idea came to him right then….
I have never taken a photo of a swan like this before….thus it’s new to me!

See ya xx
awesome … i have flown beside these birds in my ultralight trike they fly bout 45 miles an hour er so .. beautiful creatures yes indeed ,,,awesome shots,,love these birds i do ! Q 🙂 😎
Wow! That sounds impressive….ultralight trike sounds amazing to fly beside them. Think I feel a tingle of jealousy!! They are beautiful! 🙂
Super shots and I am a big fan of the black Swans! The textures and detail of the tail shot are wonderful. If you ever see them in flight, the inner wing feathers are pure white and disappear as soon as they tuck their wings in :0)
I was amazed when I sw the white but sadly I have only got one very poor shot of the inner wings. Actually I did wonder if it was a young bird maybe-you know not having developed all his feathers…but now I know! Thank you 🙂
Thanks Elle. I have a photo from my blog which shows this rather nicely here
I love black swans!
janet
They are beautiful aren’t they! Thank you 🙂
What a fantastic collection of SWANS, Lizzie ! – I’ve never seen anything like those brown ones !!!! At home (Perth) we had the black ones – WA’s symbol. The whites are glorious, too; but those multi-coloured ones … no words.
They aren’t brown swans as such, they are not quite mature adult…you know like in the ugly duckling…feathers all stubby and short….quack get out of town? They will become white soon! I love seeing the black ones. I guess you always value what you don’t have more! 🙂
But there’s one there that looks almost like a duck, with neat divisions of colouring – on the middle left …?
‘s a goose! Very neat they are too! 😉
Sighh … I did wonder; but then I thought they were all swans. :-\
Doh!! 😉
Very good and funny!
THank you very much. I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
We had some of these at the zoo and I always liked them. Very pretty feathers, and less scary that the “regular” swans.
Yes, both sorts are quite amazing though aren’t they. Thank you 🙂
What a diva Belinda is:-) … But with such beauty, who can blame her? 😉 Amazing shots!
Isn’t she just!! Yes, she’s very beautiful. Thank you 🙂
Particularly enjoyed the “synchronise” photo, and my first view of a swan’s tongue : )
Thank you.
Ah! So new to you too!! Yes those three swans and their dancing! 😉
Wow, what a beauty! Love your bird photos, Elle!
Thank you…. isnt he gorgeous 😃
