More Sea Anemones from Devon!

Look at these Beadlet Anemones…..

You have to forgive my childish giggling when looking at this little lovely....it does look a little saucy though doesn't it!!

Now this next one is rather gorgeous I think!

It’s a strawberry anemone and apparently far less common (doncha know!) than the ones above!

Mind you, in Cornwall it’s a little more common!

However I was in Devon and here is she who I am twittering about!

Here’s a couple of interesting facts for you…..

Each anemone is a large individual polyp with a mouth surrounded by tentacles.

The number of tentacles varies depending on the species and age, but is common for them to be in multiples of six.
