Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside

There I was walking along the canal again when I noticed the inside of the bark of this tree…….

So I googled ‘insects under bark of tree’ and found out that it is a sort of beetle that lays its’ eggs under tree bark, which then grow into larvae! They then, of course, need to escape so they burrow their way out leaving these rather pretty trails.

Their name?

They have two!

Bark Beetle or Boring Beetle!

Which name, were you this beetle, prefer?
