I am very lucky as where I live in the UK has some beautiful countryside and also an amazing canal network.
Canals were needed for the Industrial Revolution in the UK which was creating huge amounts of heavy produce which had to be moved. Roads simply could not handle such weights and the vehicles needed to move this produce did not exist. Canals were the answer to moving heavy objects large distances.
This section of the canal near Marsworth has a lot of locks.
Not a bad place to live!
We have had a lot of rain!
I very nearly bought a canal boat to live on!
Derwent Duck knew that the woman with the camera usually took wildfowl photos and when he realised everyone was safe from her snapping, he spread the word as fast as he could!
